Design Your Well-Being: Acoustic Comfort Meets Architectural Design

ADJ STYLE presents a new collection of modular acoustic panels developed in collaboration with architect Egidio Panzera. Conceived as a customizable architectural system, the collection transforms acoustic treatment into an expressive design element capable of enhancing both comfort and spatial identity. The project originates from a simple idea: the quality of a space is determined not only by what we see, but also by what we hear and feel. Sound, texture, light and materiality all contribute to shaping the way people experience an environment.

In contemporary interiors, acoustics has become an increasingly important aspect of design. Open-plan layouts, hard surfaces and large volumes often create visually striking spaces that can be challenging to inhabit comfortably. Excessive reverberation and background noise may affect concentration, communication and overall well-being, making acoustic comfort an essential component of architectural quality.

Instead of treating acoustic panels as purely technical products, ADJ STYLE and architect Egidio Panzera, recipient of the Compasso d'Oro Honorable Mention 2026, approached the project as an exploration of the relationship between performance, architecture and material expression. The result is a modular collection of customizable surfaces that combines sound absorption with a strong visual identity.

Inspired by organ pipes, textile pleats, geometric compositions and contemporary architectural facades, the collection is articulated through four distinct design languages — ORGANO, ASSCHER, BLOCK and PLISSÉ. Each pattern creates a unique interaction between light, shadow and texture, transforming walls into architectural features that contribute to the atmosphere and character of a space.

The modular system allows architects and interior designers to create tailor-made compositions for residential, hospitality, retail, office and public environments. Acoustic felt, leather inserts and aluminum profiles can be combined in multiple configurations, offering both design freedom and functional performance.

More than a collection of acoustic panels, the project represents a new approach to interior surfaces—one where aesthetics, comfort and functionality are no longer separate elements but part of a single design experience.
